I think of all the Challenges I've hosted this has been the most difficult to choose finalists for. However, after much thought I decided to base my choices on 3 categories-
1) Degree of difficulty. How contrasting were the tags and how well did the photographer blend them?
2) Creativity in approach. If the tags were compatible, how did the photographer give them a new look? If the tags were contrasting, how did the photographer bring them together so that they seemed compatible?
3) Picture appeal. Unfortunately judging these things can be subjective! So the final question in the decision making process was, "Does the picture connect with the viewer?"
All the entries were strong in their own way and some people offered multiple entries. If a picture was in a previous vote-off, I opted to allow the spot to go to someone else who had not been in a vote-off recently. Also, if a photographer posted more than one entry but "officially" identified one as the tag challenge submission either on their home page or in the discussion thread, I gave that photo prominence over the others when considering the finalists. In the end I felt there were 6 entries that deserved your consideration and since I'm the host, I decided to allow them all and not narrow it down to 5 (definitely a perk in being the host!).
So, with all that being said, here are the finalists in no particular order:
5. @wylieclicks with green and mirror "Green Glass & Reflective Glass
6. @paracosmia with eoina, bug, and lights "Chrysalis"
(eoina stands for Everything Old Is New Again)
Check out these pictures and their explanations on the project they belong to by clicking on the photo. You will be amazed at some of the creativity that went into pulling some of them off!
Voting will run from 4/5/2017 to midnight 4/8/2017 EST. The winner will be announced on Sunday, April 9th and that person will run Tag Challenge 141. Best wishes and congrats to all the finalists!
Congratulations to all on being chosen as a finalist in Tag Challenge 140
