Post one of your cool selective coloring pictures! You can post more then one, but try not to post too many, we want people to see many different pictures from many different people. Here is one of my SC pictures!
I've only done two photos using selective coloring. This was #2. I can never seem to get the color the intensity I want so I'm not a huge fan of using it on my photos- but I've seen others that are great!
Great idea, so much so I edited yesterday's pic as a selective coloured one :)
My new camera does it by itself, but I'm not sure if I like the results as it's turned the kids hair green as well...
And one more, this is an older one...
i use layers and i change the top layer to black and white , fiddle with it to get it how i want it then use the erase tool and press it over whichever area i want to keep the colour. then merge the layers together.
you have to be really slow and careful otherwise you end up getting some colour you dont want
@debsulzberger You can use picnik to do SC, if you click on the B&W effect you should get an effect painting box come up at the side which you can use to paint what you wan to keep colour.
@debsulzberger Hi Deb. I only use Picnik to edit...so far anyway :o) You can do SC without upgrading so it can be done just by using their free online editing. If you go into effects, select B&W and then simply erase the area you want to have in colour. I have some of my SC photos in this thread a little way up the page if you'd like to see the results :o) HTH xx
@debsulzberger That's no problem. If I can help at all don't hesitate to ask. I'm still at the cvery early stages of understanding how editing works myself but have a lot of very competent teens to help me :o) xx
@debsulzberger Ok, so you've uploaded a pic ok. Next go into 'create', then 'effects', right at the top is B&W so click on that. A box will open up alongside which has brush size/brush hardness/brush strength. This is the tool you need to get the colour back. Your cursor should now be a little circle. You can change the size of this with the brush size selector. Just go over the area you want to create the colour with this circular cursor and Bob's your uncle. If you start playing around with these effects you'll soon get used to it and it can be a lot of fun too. Get back to me if you need to xx
@debsulzberger Hey no problem. My kids just seem to know these things instinctively and I always need help to begin with. Once you know it's plain sailing though. I look forward to seeing your first SC shot :o) xx
Funny thing is select color is one of my most favorite things to do and I only have 4 in this whole project. This is the one that I picked for a favorite out of the other 3. :)
I was never a huge fan of sc (even though I see some great pictures here that I really like), but now I've tried this for the very first time for the rainbow theme. Here they are:
@4stories I like your one, I think it could be more effectivr if you just colored the eyes and flower, not the face, Dont get me wrong, I like this photo, its just a bit confusing to my eye :)
love selective colouring!
and one from March
im actually not a fan of selective coloring.. but i think it worked wonders on some photos... i use it once in a while.. ^___^
