Color Theory by janetb

Color Theory

I was playing around with this image I took this morning of my sweet little dog, Marley. When I clicked on "Posterize" in PicMonkey, the created effect took me back decades. There I was sitting in a Color Theory class studying tints and shades and tones. I had to mix the colors and paint an Arctic Fox in this style to demonstrate the concepts. Treasured memories.

Before 365, I did a little cropping, brightening, or straightening but very rarely altered my images artistically. Inspired by the many creative images on 365, I clicked on that "Posterize" button today; and so I have all of you (well, and Marley) to thank for the trip down memory lane. Thank you!
Such a sweet face. Sometimes by removing color, one can see the 'soul' of a subject!

Processing can be so much fun. I do try to keep it in balance (because you can get hooked on it and process everything!) but every now and then it just becomes too much fun! Great idea!

@olivetreeann Thank you! It was fun to discover that the effect/technique that was taught to me all those years ago is now done with the click of a button. Times have certainly changed!
