Ruffles by janetb

Ruffles

Open bowls of potpourri fragrance many of the rooms in our home; and walking past these pleasant embellishments, I can’t help but admire the pretty flowers, leaves, herbs, spices, and fruits. Even in their dried state, they retain their awesome beauty. The medley of color, texture, and scent in this bowl drew me over this morning; and the ruffled petals of a tiny, dried rose struck me as a sweet subject for today’s post. I can't resist ruffles; and I'm thankful to have this image, which will evoke wonderful memories long after the potpourri's fragrance fades!
Lovely vintage tones, very pretty Janet.

It is amazing how the rose's shape, even the frilliness of the petals is retained in the dried state. I like the "antique" tones here.

The tones blend so nicely here - love potpourri and the fragrance it lends a room - very nicely composed with this dof.

@lyndemc Thank you! The rose was about an inch wide...so tiny...I used the macro lens to capture it. I love the frilly ruffles and, like you, are amazed at the dried state.

@milaniet Thank you! The tiny rose with all of those ruffles stood out among the other flowers even though it was really only about an inch wide.
