Every Fall, the birds take a bit of a break from coming to the feeders. The season’s abundance of fruits, nuts, seeds, and insects sustains them. Then it turns colder, and they take a break from the break and return to the feeders, much to our delight!
Wearing her soft, blurry streaks of brown, this female House Finch looked so pretty against the backdrop of colorful sassafras, oak, and hickory leaves this morning; but don’t let that pretty face fool you. She wanted the feeders all to herself and kept chasing the handsome male away!
@paulaw Thank you, Paula! I'm glad you liked the negative space. I wondered whether or not to crop the image; but I liked the negative space, too...especially since the colorful Fall leaves added a little color to it. I appreciate you stopping by and commenting.
@lisamccloskey Lisa, thank you for visiting and for your kind words about my image of the little female House Finch. She visited the feeders throughout the day. Such a joy to watch!
