Slight cheat as this was last night but I couldn't leave it out. This fantastic sunset bathed the street in red light so I nipped into the loft and stuck my camera out of the skylight. I messed about with cropping a little bit (plumping for 'rule of thirds' in the end!) but otherwise SOOC.
Afterwards I wasn't so sure of the wisdom of rushing up to the loft, while balancing precariously on the loft ladder trying to extract a reluctant cat, who contrived to have the claws of all four feet embedded in the side of the loft hatch!!
HUGE thanks to everybody for your recent commenting - it's been keeping me going through a tough patch (photo wise).
That's the one of the joys of this project Judith..we can conect just looking at the same sun setting. However, I didn't have to go to the same amount of trouble to get my shot just strolled out into the yard and snapped away as the scene developed and unfolded over time.
Wow! Worth every bit of risk of injury the intrepid photographer had to endure from the ladder guard. :) A simply spectacular sunset! Should be a gorgeous day tomorrow if the sailors are correct.
Judith, great image for SOCC. Sunsets always work, urban sunsets work even better . This works on both fronts. Love those chimney pots.
An even tighter crop might have worked too...a tad more of the sky cropped off the horizontal , narrowing the gap between the ariel and the top of the sky ...giving it a more letterbox style !
