Last night I took Rachel and her friends to Trent Bridge to watch Nottinghamshire play Derbyshire at 20Twenty cricket. Knowing that Nottingham folk are always friendly and helpful I asked a couple of stewards where was the best place to go and watch and they directed us up into the stands behind the wicket where there was, indeed, a splendid view! A few enthusiastic old boys on the same row filled me in on who was on or off form and with a picnic tea and glorious sunshine, the evening was complete. Twenty20 is a quick form of the game with lots of runs and lots of wickets, extra colour and a bit of gratuitous flashiness. The girls enjoyed it (even the one whose first question was, 'Why do two players have bats?') and Notts won!
Speeded up cricket ...sounds just up my street !!! You have captured the action in this shot perfectly !! Sounds like a lovely English summer evening !
We have a growing Guyanese population where I live and cricket is now played in some of our parks. Now I'll have to go and watch , and find friendly people to explain it to me!
Great action shot, Judith. Looks like a cross between baseball and hockey. I'd probably enjoy a cricket game once I was clued in on the details of the game. :)
Fantastic action pic, Nottingham is our stomping ground, you usually see blokes with huge cooler boxes of liquid refreshment going to the games, I often wonder how much watching they are planning on doing!!
Judith, a great 'catch' (oo er 'pun' alert) of your cricket match, no point using a 'wide' angle for this shot !! . Hope you enjoyed your trip to sunny Nottingham. You picked a beautiful evening to visit...
Today wasn't quite as good, a beautiful sunny early morning walk for with Ruby, but from about 10.30 am onwards the clouds came making it quite a nipsy day !!!
