Sunday Exeat by judithg

Sunday Exeat

I'm finding myself regularly taking Monty into town for his Sunday walk and I've been really enjoying them. Today there were some excellent buskers around including some really good Spanish and classical guitarists. I've felt this last week or so that I've lost my grip on 365 with hardly any time to browse and I only realised the theme was 'doors' on Thursday. In a bid to put it right I took a few nice doors today and was idly taking King's as you get a view of doors upon doors, upon archways when to my delight the choristers started to appear. Well a few of them did - they have to board at school (quite an undertaking as they start at about 8 or 9 yrs old) but those who live in Cambridge can leave with their parents for Sunday afternoon after the morning service. This boy looked keen to get to his lunch - his mum was bringing up the rear.
A better class of busker obviously in Cambridge!! This is a very pleasing doorway with much to see. The eye leads you past the monument right through to the building at the back . The choir boy looks very smart in his top hat & gown ! A big commitment boarding at that young age !!

This is an amazing shot Judith - could be in the Kings Brochure - great door shot - and i love the repetition of arches through to the lawn. You've done well on lighting here - that porter's atrium area in between the doors is normally dark - if you editied it - you've done a great job...if you did it naturally I am in awe of your metering!! :o) Anyways a great shot and so I don't ramble for ages I'm going to fav it! :o)

@sparkle Oh thank you! It was editing - no awesome metering! Primarily because the boy was too dark but I was really chuffed with how warm the inner gate looked - just goes to show how beautiful the stonework is.
