Apologies to those of you who've had more rain than you want but we are currently thankful for any rain that falls, although it may be too late to repair the damage to our East Anglian crops. I took Monty along the 'lode' at Anglesey Abbey this morning and enjoyed the gentle rain on the slow-flowing water which is absolutely full of water lilies. The lode is a traditional East Anglian feature - a raised waterway feeding a watermil - very drippy, green and beautiful!
I tweaked the levels in Picnik and ended up with this slightly metallics look.
Beautiful colours, high contrast, I like this! And it is happy dance for us too, as the situation is the same in France. It's been raining heavily Sat. night and Sun. night. My watertank that collects water for the garden is full again and all the plants are all happy and growing again, including weeds :-)
The ripples here are gorgeous & the vibrant green of the leaves, lovely ! Glad it's raining for you too. My B&B's from your part of the country tell me how dry you are in your area.
Great shot! I love the texture of the leaves, the reflections and how you captured the rings where the rain drops hit the water. I keep wanting to get a water ring shot.
This is beautiful! The editing really makes the water drops stand out.
We need more rain here too - yesterday's showers weren't nearly enough to compensate for the extreme dry spell.
Such a lovely deep green, really like the ripples and reflections. Great processing. The rain today was much needed, the ground around this area is so dry with wide cracks appearing!
You deserve your rain..just keep it in the fens for a few more days, weeks, i want a summer like 1970-whatnot..nice piccy and i see no frogs sitting on the lilly pad though..they must be making dolly's...
Judith, I really like the look of this, the post processing gives it a gritty edge, I took some pics of our pond, I might try some gritty post processing too :)
