First of all huge thanks for all the lovely comments and Faves on 'Wet Weekend' - that shot appeared by some sort of osmosis from various other unsuccessful attempts so it was lovely and a complete surprise to make PP with it.
The Fort St George (as it's usually abbreviated) is named for its resemblance to the East India Company's Fort St George in Chennai (Madras as was). Can't see much resemblance myself! It's the oldest pub on the river with parts dating back to the 16th century. I zipped three photos together for this pic taken from the adjacent footbridge which is a very well worn route for Monty and myself - as we were going home Monty had his feet firmly planted and was refusing to move so I stopped to take a few photos. This is the back - it's prettier from the front but you miss out on the river and as the trees are in leaf it's hard to get a good shot.
I can't see the join !! Very clever photo & I love the river & boats, it's just a perfect place for a pub ! Looks like it has some wooden cladding too on part of it. Very pretty Judith !
Where did you take this pic from ( the Bridge? ) the angle is great and you have captured the feel of this lovely pub. Many a time I would pop in for a drink with family and friends and the food use to be great .
