Firstly THANK YOU all for your lovely comments and Faves etc - Puddy is a very splendid cat and I'm grateful to him for sitting and looking pretty. A few people mentioned the soft focus - it's Ortonish from Picnik - I've used it on cats before and it seems to suit them.
I've messed about taking this avenue of trees on Jesus Green before and never been that happy so for this I'm grateful to the family in the picture - Russian tourists I think (I sound like I'm doing 'grateful' month!). The 'mum' was trying to take photos while father and son joshed around teasing her. I felt solidarity with her and copied her low angle - in fact I went lower - this is pretty much camera on the ground. I'm quite pleased with the outcome though the tree trunk on the left is irritating me a bit - but I want to keep the people central and not lose the width.
I love the way you have the camera so low down it gives a really good perspective & the whole line of trees looks much more majestic ! The little family in the background would be pleased with the effect I think !!
Ah, I've taken this shot a few times now and I, too, have never been satisfied. Having found the perfect shot of it now (=yours) I don't have to try anymore ;). This is very, very beautiful and the cinemascope effect works greatly!
Love this gorgeous shot! Perfect perspective. Looks like such a cool, shady avenue. Beautiful! I love the cinemascope effect ~ it's one of my favorite Picnik effects.
I really really really love this! Thanks for telling me about desensitizing your husband, I guess that won't be a topic for another ten or even twenty years, the oldest greenfinch living in captivity was 19,5 years old!
