Going Underground

I don't know if I'm supposed to have people in my urban landscapes but they keep sneaking in. Cambridge is full of teenagers learning English at this time of year - these two look to have forged a firm friendship.
great shot!

Super silhouette and tones. I don't see how you could avoid people in an urban setting, it is their habitat.

I agree with @bpaquette . If anything, it would be very difficult to avoid the people...they are definitely part of an Urban Landscape. :-) I like how the tunnel is softer looking than the silhouettes of the people.

Very nice! I tend to find walkways like these a bit scary, especially at night, but the lighting makes this look much less intimidating :)

Great focus & I love silhouettes, these two girls have a lovely outline. I love the discarded fish & chip box that makes it look very urban !!

@happypat Yes - it didn't go un-noticed by Monty either!!

I love this in b&w too, very cool!

Great shot! Great focus and perspective!

Without people is it still urban? I love this shot because of the people.
July 10th, 2011
lovely perspective - and I think these two add to the shot - nice lighting too. Actually just looking again - what I like most os the geometry through the shot - FAB!!!

the people add to it, contrast to all the lines

Judith, I love images like this, B/W, the two students at the end of the underpass really make the image stand out as a work of art.

+Fav for me

Oh and another song title slipped in !!! Paul Weller and the JAm would be proud of you :)

This is really nice, the studants in the far end of the shot really make it work.

I love the composition. Excellent shot.
July 11th, 2011
very cool, i also like the composition. this would have been great for minimalism
July 11th, 2011
What a wonderful visual moment you've captured here. Great composition too.

@phil_howcroft I changed the title from something very boring just for you Phil - I'm prepared to forgive the Jam for being absolutely rubbish when I went to see them (just before they broke up). Thought you might fancy letterboxing this - it did look quite good with a narrower crop - thanks for the fav - I was pleased with those girls.

Love this!!

If only they knew how much they added to this wonderful shot... just great.

@judithg Judith , many thanks for the 'title change' :) . the image doesn't need any cropping or letter-boxing , looks like a perfect composition as is

It's just not perfection without people sometimes.
July 12th, 2011
I actually prefer people in shots like these. A fine example of street photography :)
July 12th, 2011
It doesn't get any more urban that this! Great b&w!
July 12th, 2011
Great B&W, light and shadows. This picture wouldn't be good without people
July 12th, 2011
Great PoV and the b&w really sets a mood!
