Lesley Allen @samdan doesn't mention the karate side of her life very much on 365 but in fact she dedicates a huge amount of time to training and teaching Tang Soo Do. This weekend she and her husband, Mike are hosting a two day workshop to mark the 10th anniversary of their clubs at Impington and Cambridge. Their dedication has a huge impact on many lives as they take adults and children from beginner to black belt and beyond, increasing their fitness, confidence and self-esteem as they go. Rachel and Nigel (and Adam for a while) have all trained and for Rachel especially it has been a huge, life-influencing experience as she has been training (and loving it) for pretty much all the years she can remember. So here's a thanks from me too - it's been a truly positive influence on our family (so long as I don't think about the weekends away we might have had! ;0)). Happy 10th Anniversary.
@june@clairelizteuber@sabresun@paulaag@snowy@jannaellen@marytj@wac and Judith many thanks for your kind words, everyone should have a passion in their life, mine is Tang Soo Do. For me it is a way of life, the pleasure you get from teaching someone and seeing them blossom cannot be equaled, and inspires me to continue.
I knew Lesley was a trainer in some sort of Karate but this is a lovely tribute to them & all they do & to find out a bit more of their work . Probably too modest to tell us themselves !! A lovely photo & I'm glad your family get so much pleasure from it too !
What a fantastic portrait of the Allens! You should give them an 8x10 of this for their studio(s). I had no idea that Lesley was a Karate master ~ how cool! Happy 10th anniversary, @samdan, and may you have many, many more successful years!
