I went to St Ives for a change of scene with Monty today. He's currently on-lead only after dropping a hoop down a cattle-grid into cow-pat soup yesterday. I retrieved that ring (yes - I actually did) and washed it in the river, only to discover that Monty had decided that he should wash his other hoop... and it was busy drifting off downstream. I'm worried that they are getting harder to get hold of - I've been buying up the internet. Anyway - enough of that - needless to say, just out of shot there was a man with a bag of bread. Probably not the man you are currently imagining - this one was about 20 with tattoos and a skinhead haircut.
That is funny about Monty & my youngest son won't be pleased ( but won't know !) but it reminds me a bit of the losing of ''the blanket'' when he was very small . He couldn't go to sleep without that blanket & the hunts I had for that bit of cloth !!! You were very brave rescuing the ring ..it must be your northan blood !!! This is a great gathering of swans & beautifully portrayed !
@hown Lol, my thoughts exactly. I thought I spoke English pretty well but apparently there's room for improvement :)
Wonderful shot Judith, I don't think I've ever seen that many swans before.
@hown@halkia Am I confusing everybody!? I often get in trouble at home for starting half way through a story. Monty the dog loves his yellow hoops and cannot be relied on to behave off-lead without them. As seen in http://365project.org/judithg/365/2011-01-19
i just clicked the Monty yellow hoop link...great image...made me smile...Ruby has a yellow hoop , but we think she's hidden it somewhere in the garden !
\love the story Judith, I looked up the collective noun for swans I didn't realise there were so many choices.......... gaggle, ballet, bank, bevy, flock, game, regatta or team and then if they are in flight there are even more choices!! Great shot
