St Paul's Cathedral from a new shopping centre I've forgotten the name of. At least they had the good sense to reflect the glory of St Paul's rather than compete with it.
I wouldn't have expected a shopping centre near St Pauls doesn't seem right somehow !! Lovely black & white shot & a great angle, shows what a beautiful building it is !
I agree with Pat it seems a shame to build modern shopping centres in a place of historic buildings, but your picture is brilliant. bte no you can visit any time out of uniform . Gramps had just fetched Wills from scout camp , I stopped at home to make muffins, he timed it well I had just put them in the oven
Oh wow, this is fantastic. Completely professional! I love the reflections and the juxtaposition of old and modern. And it works so well in black and white. Fav'd.
Also, I'm afraid I don't agree with some of the comments here. The modern building is Paternoster Sq, which is basically an office complex, with shops on the ground floor. St Paul's is in the City, so it is right it is surrounded by banking and commerce - it always has been. They're careful these days to preserve the view of the cathedral as much as possible.
@cgould Yes - I think this one works fine- some of the buildings you see from the Tate Modern along the river bank are just plain boring 1980's things though - no imagination used - probably because it wasn't a 'posh' bit of the river until recently
(Paternoster Square?)
