Adam has got contact lenses for the first time and the faffing about putting them in has knocked the whole morning routine for six. As a result I was chasing his bus down Queen's Road this morning. I have to say it wasn't a hardship as I've been really looking forward to some misty autumn shots. As we headed down there was a photographer out with some fancy gear shooting some great hanging mists. Within the 5 minutes it took me to throw Adam out of the car behind the bus, negotiate the one way system, find somewhere to park and run down to The Backs the mist had started to clear. Still it was worth running down the path to Clare College - this is their gates, bridge and gardens with King's Chapel in the background.
In fact as soon as I got home I had a phone call changing all my plans so I feel as if I've been chasing a metaphorical bus all day. 31C in the end - hot, hot, hot for September!
Oh the elusive bus & how many times have I chased a bus that was''too early'', always the bus drivers fault !!! Never mind as you say totally worth it for this lovely photo ! You have everything here ..a sun flare, the mist showing off beautifully the beautiful ironwork on the gates & those two turrets or spires of the college ! Thank goodness for our changing seasons !
What a beautiful shot, it's so nice to see the hazy sunshine protruding through and the misty rays wafting over in the mid ground, plus the gates appearing quite prominent.
Every time I'm stressed I have this repeated nightmare about chasing buses and trains but I never catch them - so much for the metaphorical bus ;). But this beauty of a shot was definitely worth the stress - sooo stunning :)!
Wow, what a beautiful shot of the gates to Clare College with the mists. I miss Cambridge and keep meaning to come and visit it again. A fav for me too.
Amazing!
