An old lead drainpipe tucked into the corner of a jeans shop. This forms part of the courtyard at the entrance to Trinity College - I love these little details and it's good to see the vine leaves are clinging on.
It was great to catch up with our old crew last night - friendships forged sweating over a lab bench are strong ones I find (mind you the fallings out can be spectacular too!). It turns out that our vaccine for Delhi Belly is a no-go commercially but is going to be taken forward by NGOs for use in countries like Bangladesh where babies die of it every year. Now - secretly that is the result all of us scientists wanted (well we don't object to commercial success - it's very necessary but ultimately what is more motivating day to day - dying babies or rich tourists?)
Many thanks for the fabulous response to my pictures this week - I've been in a happy-365 mood this week. But I do feel I'm getting behind on commenting and we are having a half term cinema trip tonight so I'll be even worse - SORRY in advance and I will get on to it properly tomorrow.
another great college shot - this is so very Cambridge colleges! Sounds like a ball - I love getting together with old pals - and well done on your vaccine - most of my pals are in pharma and creating "useful" drugs like yours...
Fantastic title& it looks so like a jean leg, the colour is just right !! Pretty top too with the Virginia Creeper !! Must be very rewarding to hear about all your research & testing work put to such good cause, I would be very proud Judith !!!!
Fascinating drainpipe. Looks like a surreal tree trunk with the ivy over it. Nice find. Good to know you have had a hand in helping with the vaccine. As you are a mother, I am sure saving one dying baby is all the payment you really need.
Love the title, colours and contrast. Would have to agree it would be far more satisfying to have produced a product to help dying children than the rich tourists of the world. Good on you all!
Glad your work is going to help those who really need it. And...I saw this on the PP....I knew it was yours when I saw it...before I even linked over. I love the fall foliage, the stone, the metal work...the windows....just gorgeous! fav!
