I had to revert to my Lancashire roots for the title for this one. It's not the best photo of my project but I think it's probably the most bizarre (knocking the guilty cows of the top spot http://365project.org/judithg/365/2011-05-23 ). It's been a gorgeous afternoon and we took Monty along to the towpath for a quiet walk only to discover a huge rowing competition underway with boats all over the Common and lycra everywhere you looked. Most boats were normal - this one a little less so. The coach on the bank kept booming, 'Jupiter!' for some reason known only to himself. The very strong light and shadows made photography very tricky so I'm glad these oddballs were there - rowing very well if you're wondering!
A close up of the coach will be going in my Extras http://365project.org/judithg/extras/2011-11-19 . Thanks once again for the response to my pics this week - I've been stunned and delighted to find three of them on PP but I'm feeling rather guilty at taking up so many spaces!
Maybe he was yelling about it being the season for seeing Jupiter...as I learned from posting a pic of a sunset yesterday. :-) This is such a cool pic--I love unique things like this.
I actually think its a great photo. I like the bicyclist going in the opposite directin and the costumes also being mirror images. And you captured the motion well
Ok, weird for sure! Thought they were granite statues on the thumbnail, guess in reality that would have sunk the boat. Love the cyclist on the tow path too. Is it a monkey or a giraffe suit? No worries about taking up the whole PP - well deserved.
I like their style! Really great sight of these rowers & their coach in these weird costumes !! Must have had a double take when you saw that !! I like the way you have a sort of double deck layer& you're right ''there is nowt so queer as folk'' Judith !
