I had to call at our accountant today which is out towards the Gog Magog hills so I stuck Monty in the back of the car and went on there for a walk. For the whole journey I was distracted by the sky doing dramatic things - mostly making fabulous rays between the clouds - so when we got to the Gogs I marched Monty up the hill for some shots. Unfortunately the sun had become a bit too strong and I just wasn't manage to capture the rays. Then the cloud thickened and the most amazing light bathed a field of new green shoots. Seconds later thick cloud had descended and we were back to greyness.
I met a couple of nice old ladies with labradors and we had a chat about the fences needing so many repairs that I can't trust Monty off-lead as there is a field of sheep. They said that at the weekend there were a couple of teenagers in the field with the pregnant ewes - the girl was running round the field 'rounding up the sheep' and the boy was taking photos of her. The sheep were racing around in a complete panic - I have never heard of that before - it seems it isn't only dogs that should be kept on a lead.
Also apologies to Wesley - I checked my order of service from yesterday and he wrote the words - I can't blame him for the tune after all!

Lovely wide lens & fabulous light Judith !! Those pale green shoots stand out beautifully against the misty sky too !! Farmers should repair their fences you can't always rely on the general public to even think those ewes might be pregnant.. but still they should know better !! I hate visiting the accountant !!!!!!
@happypat Apparently they climbed over the fence to get in/out so not really the farmer's fault - shame he didn't appear with his shotgun really! The fences are all being lifted (presumably by foxes or badgers or something) - it looks like the sheep field one is in decent condition but I'm not convinced that Monty couldn't wriggle through the gate and as he can get under all the fences that should stop access to the gate I won't risk it.
Gorgeous glow from the sun, just beautiful. It's good to hear that you and others are sensible with their dogs around sheep. If those young people were found running our sheep ragged, I'd have kicked their butts!
I am totally agog...maybe not to the point of running wild with pregnant ewes, but pretty close. This is such a stunning sight. I can see how one would be enchanted to the point of running through the magical, misty fields. What an amazing shot, Judith!! Absolute fave.
@bpaquette@snowy That's a good question - he's on antibiotics and painkillers so he's stopped licking his foot incessantly, but he won't let me look at it and he stood on a stone yesterday and spent five minutes with his foot in the air. I suspect that when the antibiotics stop it will all come back and turn out to be a grass-seed - call me cynical but we've been there before! There are various routes around the Gogs so we only did a couple of miles. Diana - that's it for the hills!!
Yes viewed large is best! The frame made me feel like I was looking through a window....WOW! gorgeous, gorgeous capture.......the green is so rich and the background stretches for miles...............FAV!
