Wind in the Willows

Sorry if you've viewed the other photo I've deleted. I've struggled today but decided the other was a bit too rubbish. This is a photo I took on my way down the towpath with Monty this afternoon - the return walk involved threatening gray clouds and a 'bracing' head wind but no pics!
Thanks so much for all your nice comments on Puerto Rico and sorry I'm still behind - I'm behind with everything so it may take me a little time to catch up - very sorry.
Lovely scene. Am intruiged now by the stormy return version. Just been holding on to my stupid floppy hat outside a very blowy graduation ceremony.

Great shot. Love the composition of this - the tree hanging over the river is amazing. And like Alison, interested to see the stormy return version of this shot.

Love love love willow trees. This is lush :)

Yes, I'd like to see the stormy one as well. I really like the richness of foreground, middle ground and background without it feeling busy.

@fueast @louiesphotos Oh sorry - I meant the return version of the walk - dragging the dog along so didn't take pics!!
December 13th, 2011
@fueast Oh and photographic evidence of floppy hat is where??
December 13th, 2011
@jgpittenger That's what I get for writing the blurb too fast - no return photo - just a return fast walk before I got caught in horrible weathe r- wish I had taken one now!!

@judithg This is a very good question. I didn't have my camera - only a phone so its not on my person. The students took a lot of photos though so one might crop up somewhere. I look bloody awful in those hats. My own graduation photo proves that and 20 some years on things can't have improved!

@fueast Oh I don't know - you could have acquired a certain gravitas - do you get an extra large professorial version?
December 13th, 2011
@judithg no just more wrinkles and larger bags under the eyes

I love this and wow, the tree is planted in the river, or is the level very high??

The tree hanging over the boat gives a good frame. The strong red on the boat pulls your eye in. Lovely shot.

Nice place, love the composition and sunlight!

A wonderful title conjuring up tales of the river bank. A sweet chuggy boat perfect for Rat & Mole & that graceful tree dipping into the water, stunning !! The boat seems to be tied to the tree somehow so useful as well as pretty ! Not to worry about catching up, it will take you a bit to get back to normal Judith !! I think we are all finding it hard to keep up this time of the year ...lots to do !!

This is beautiful - nicely framed by the tree. Having a dog has it's uses when it means you have an opportunity to go out for photo shooting opportunities like this one!

Wonderful Shot - Very Beautiful!

A lovely scene. Not being a native, where exactly was this taken?
December 14th, 2011
A great way to show how windy it was! The curly twigs of the willow remind me of a Van Gogh - very nice!

Looks beautiful. A really lovely scene Judith,

@hown Along the River Cam heading out of Cambridge northwards towards Ely. The river is used for rowing so there is a well maintained towpath used by coaches cycling along by the boats - and very nice for dog walks!

Very beautiful!

Love the warm light and the wind in the willow - well, you know what I mean!
December 14th, 2011
lovely light and great capture of the wind on the branches - I tried it with a willow tree too and didn't manage this

Beautiful willow. It reminds me of our house in NZ where we have a 50+yr old willow in the back yard. I have had motivation problems lately not with taking photos rather with uploading them as it seems everytime I go to do it the internets down or slow....so frustrating.

nice shot Judith - I'm having a rubbish streak - this is way better than my shots of late! I'm too tired!
December 15th, 2011
@judithg Jealous!
