@jgpittenger @fueast I may sulk if everybody is getting camera stuf!! I'd like a macro lens but at nearly £600 I won't be getting one. My camera has a 4/3rds system so you can't just shop around for lenses you have to go very expensive or use an adaptor - and the way I've been hammering my camera this year I suspect it may be replaced before I get my money's worth out of any new lenses. Oh and I'd like a pancake lens as well and a great big fat expensive Nikon for special events....I don't want much....

@judithg ah - its a 4/3 zoom that I ordered today. Around £120 for a reconditioned one (no adaptor I hope...) then I plan to add a macro converter. We'll see! Probably won't fit if and when it gets here...

@fueast I might have a search around after Christmas when people have got new toys and are selling their old ones....that sounds like a good deal and at worst you might have to manually focus which I do more and more anyway.

I love your line up of Santa's. A new camera is on my wish list,as you can see my camera is very basic. On the plus side it does fit into the back pocket of my jeans.

Are the santas in Cambridge? Ummm I have been wanting a macro lense for some time but......have had both cars in the garage at the same time this last week so I think I will have to be patient a little bit longer. Grrrrr

@samdan Just one but he moves - in the camera shop in Rose Crescent.

@judithg What is a pancake lens?
December 14th, 2011
@jgpittenger It's a very flat lens with a fixed focal length - good for low light and portrait stuff I belive.

I don't think Santa can afford my wide angle and macro lenses but I've asked for a couple of filters!
December 14th, 2011
That is so cute.

Yes I would love a photographic assistant, to carry all my gear, set up my equipment then pack it all away :-)

Great collage, cool fun shot, very festive.

Hihi, cute find - so fitting for all of us ;). I already bought my own present - a 50mm lens, which was quite a bargain at a 100 euros and could be paid from my teaching money ;).

haha cool find. mines not camera equipment but it is to do with photography...we are going to Taiwan for Christmas....does that count?

I am managing okay with my point and shoot - I would just like more time in the day so I don't feel so rushed sometimes trying to get a shot. Haha.

I think the camera I got in October has enough to keep me busy for the time being, but I'd love a remote...if Santa's passing this neck of the woods!
December 15th, 2011
great Santa you've found and love the collage - and yes, who doesn't want for camera stuff, if not new cameras for Christmas
December 15th, 2011
great collage judith, i tried the new equipment line just after my daughters engagement / wedding was announced and my wife was 'up for it'...the idea has worn thin now...still i have until aug 2013 to get my new camera..so maybe next year:)

@phil_howcroft Either as you'll get closer she'll be thinking it's cost so much that you may as well get good photos or she'll be thinking it's cost so much.... ;0)
