Very foggy this morning - almost too foggy for photos. Adam wasn't terribly surprised that I offered to take him school with camera in hand! I've never photographed Downing College and it's really very elegant. Not as old as most, founded in 1800, is has lovely neoclassical buildings (of various ages but all the same style) built around large lawns. I passed over a misty bike shot for this one so I hope you like it!
3 faves already at this time of the morning Judith ...you must be in good form !!! We had fog this morning & I went out with my camera but everything was too far away, I needed some buildings nearby to peer at !! This is magnificent & what I would hope to be aiming for but will keep trying !
Love that figure in there too just gives the photo a central POV !! Lovely.
Ha ha the fog suits you - or rather Cambridge (+ a bit of Orton?). Very cool anyway. You must be praying for more bad weather. Bright sun is so boring.
This is fantastic, absolutely breathtaking!! Wonderful architecture, and a mysterious mood. Isn't fog just a wonderful thing for photographers? You did a really great job here, and I'm pretty sure we'll see this in the Top 20 this week! ;-) Love it!!!
@fueast Bit or Orton for brightness rather than bloom and a touch of cross process for colour. Actually I think I've overdone it a bit. Oh and I cloned out a litter bin by the girl!
@judithg : Now that is really impressive - the kit lens! And I don't mind the "lack" of sharpness at all, 'cause it is still clear, and the processing added a worderfully soft, smooth and almost silky feel to the structures of the buildings without "washing" the details away. Again.. an awesome job!
For me, the silhouette of the man/woman 'makes' this shot. It was very cold this morning, I hope you didn't have to wait long for him to walk into your shot!!
@snowy@shanne Unfortunately Adam has to be at school for 8.30 so I'd already dropped him off - otherwise I would have got him to walk through a few locations!
Late to this party and little else I can add in the way of praise for this shot. That kit lens is definitely light years ahead of the one I got with my dSLR and, of course, your skills are light years ahead of mine. Envious but must Fav - love, love , love this image!
flippin blazes Judith......it took me a week to get to the end of this post!!! 2, yes TWO in the top 10 this week.......well done indeed! Both superb shots! :-)
Love that figure in there too just gives the photo a central POV !! Lovely.
