Work is having a seriously adverse effect on my photography at the moment! What with that, taking Monty to the vet and myself to the physio and not taking my camera on dog walks I left it a bit late in the day to find a subject. I had another play with the macro extension tubes but I think I'm making some fundamental mistakes so I need to find a tutorial. In the meantime this is quince blossom from the garden, taken in our South-facing bedroom as the sun went down. The light effect is pure accident and only applied to this one photo - if I'd realised I'd have moved the flowers up a bit. I like quince - it's the Japanese feel of it. A literal mountain of ironing to do but I'll do some commenting a bit later.
Yes, a very Japanese feel; simple and beautiful. The texture of the paper contributes to that, I think. Lovely. Don't think it is in flower yet round here?
I've decided that ironing is an environmentally unfriendly practice that should be banned. My ironing basket has stuff down the bottom that has been there for a couple of years.
I like everything about this, the delicate colour of the flower, the petals, the texture of the background, and, of course, the light makes it. Accident or not its a fave for me!
Really pretty - it does look like you've set up some sophisticated lighting thing - you shouldn't have let on! I'm with @fueast on the ironing - we've virtually given up and it's amazing how much you can get away with not ironing (but then neither of us has to dress up either for work or play!)
Lovely soft lighting & a real Japanese feel to this photo !! I'm not very clued up about quince & wouldn't have known what this delicate looking flower was. Must read the gardening book !! You have much on your plate at the moment !!
