I went for cocktails to celebrate a good friend's birthday yesterday and took a quick snap outside Brown's Restaurant while I was unlocking my bike to go home. The restaurant is right next door to the Old Addenbrooke's Hospital and is famous for being the former 'Clap Clinic'. Clearly this has long been a big problem in Cambridge as it is a very big and imposing building (and I have a friend who works in the current version and while her surroundings may not be as impressive she isn't exactly short of customers.) The old hospital is now The Judge Institute for Management Studies and is pretty OTT architecture-wise - I've no idea why I haven't photographed it. Inside is even better but I'll have to try and gain access for that...
Lovely scene in the soft glow of the night lights. Love the sidewalk and the fabulous architecture. Not sure what to say about the Clap Clinic aspect of the former hospital site...but I'm glad that help was close at hand for the students and residents of Cambridge. :)
Oh a funny commentary Judith & have the young still no sense !!!! On your bike after a night out ..that sounds very adventurous, still they wouldn't be able to breathalise you on a bike would they ? I love the warm light & curve of the road...I think I can see your bike !! Thanks for the interesting info !
@happypat Actually they can and do and if you've got a driving licence they can put points on it!! Luckily you tend to have to be at the falling off stage for that - I was just at the 'getting home without really knowing how' stage!!
@peggysirk@happypat The entrance is right opposite the Fitzwilliam Museum - it wasn't at all in a discreet place! Very nice place for a drink though you take your chances somewhat with food and service.
I did get stopped once on my bike so it is true! At least you were alert enough to take an in focus photo so it can't have been too bad. Nice and moody feel to it.
lovely night shot with those lights and interesting information - yes, I've known people get points on their licence from riding a bicycle too, not that I've managed it
Oh my! Are you familiar with @halkia? The other Judith....LOL I thought I'd stumbled onto her project at first! This looks like a lot of her night shots. This is a great night shot. love it!
