Lowry in Cambridge by judithg

Lowry in Cambridge

Had a fab afternoon meeting Alison @fueast and trying to persuade her that Cambridge isn't all that bad. I think she was won over by a puppy. As usual for these occasions my photos are mostly rubbish. I quite like this workman at St John's who kept adopting this pose for some reason. I cloned out some distractions in the background but I've left a tiny bit of Alison bottom left just to prove she was trying to bomb my photos!
Three good things:
1. Puppies
2. My Camcard that gets us in colleges for free
3. Meeting 365ers :0)
Jen
I like the shadowy aspect of this photo

I think this is a very cool picture and not rubbish at all. Good for you to meet up with Alison - I bet you had a great time :)

Which bit of my bottom is there on the left? Obvious Fav for a fab afternoon and cool photo. Came out of the wrong entrance after going to John Lewis to the toilet and missed the first train but never mind. Thanks for the tour and beer. Am with you about the three good things

Outside Hall at Trinity?

@fueast Blimey I knew I shouldn't have left you alone! If think you got away with your rucksack.

@cgould Outside Hall at St John's but you'd do well to spot it as I removed some distinguishing features. We did chat up the lovely Trinity porters and have a few pics of them but @fueast couldn't charm them into letting us on the grass. Both colleges are full of builders before the students arrive.

@phil_howcroft I thought he looked like one of his matchstick men. I know which painting you mean - I didn't realise it was BW!

A timeless Cambridge shot. I love those ornate doors!
September 14th, 2012
Very powerful shot. I've just learned that Lowry painted quite a bit in Berwick on Tweed, just down the road from our new house! I shall have to look him up a bit now you've reminded me!

like this one! this silhouette type shot works well with the college doors - such a contrast in lighting...great if you want this effect, bad if your folks are stood in said doorway wanting graduation photos done!!

Love that silhouette!!
