Glasshouse

In my personal opinion a lot of the buildings on the new West Cambridge site will date very quickly and are poor examples of modern architecture but I like this one which contains multi-purpose office space I think. The windows were very pretty reflecting the blue sky over the fields outside. I don't know if the square crop has lessened the impact - too late now!
Three good things:
1. Hen cured - lovely hard white eggs
2. First blackberries of the season picked
3. Downton Abbey back on tonight
Love those reflections

That's very cool. Looks a Mondrian abstract.

very nice in this shot mind, but i often bemoan the utter dullness of lazy modern buildings..
oh, i know no. 3's back on, its the 'ironing hour'

Judith I like the crop and frame, great theme shot.
September 16th, 2012
Like this. The fact that all the lines are offset is quite cool.

@sleepdozer57 Not everybody in the house is as thrilled as I am by no 3!
September 16th, 2012
This is such a good theme shot :) Enjoy Downtown Abbey, we never watched it for the first series and it seems to late now to catch up!

Cool looking building, keep the window cleaner busy :-)

@melaniesavage You'll be fine - totally random ridiculous storyline reminiscent of Dallas....
September 16th, 2012
@blightygal Hi Freida - how's it going down Sarf??
September 16th, 2012
Perfect shot for the weekly theme. Great composition.
September 16th, 2012
It certainly makes for a good photo opp :) Very cool and great for the theme.

Love the different sizes, widths & slotting together of all these modern windows. The crop is perfect in my opinion , tight & in proportion. Funny number 3 is not popular in our house either but he will be asleep by then!!!!!
How are you bearing up today without Rachel, Sunday is the worst I would think when all at home.
September 16th, 2012
@happypat It's been hockey chauffering morning and aft - Nigel's struggling most without his karate partner.....
September 16th, 2012
@judithg Oh poor Nigel , not easy for Dads when their little girls leave home specially when they are so close!
September 16th, 2012
Love the colours and box effects! Poor dad!
September 16th, 2012
Great picture. And Downton Abbey is back! I am so jealous.
September 16th, 2012
Beautiful. The sky reflections make is so soft.
September 16th, 2012
The windows look like picture frames showing the blue sky
September 16th, 2012
Great photo! I don't think I would like to wash all those windows! Enjoy Downton Abby. I liked the first two seasons.
September 16th, 2012
@judithg All ok, ta!! Decorating and job hunting is my world!! Hows about you and Cambs? Eddie works there now, and I really should go and have a look around one day coz your photo's make it look so nice!
September 16th, 2012
@blightygal Ooooh you should! Where's he working? Let me know and we can use my magic card to get in every where for free!
September 16th, 2012
@judithg oooh, magic card? Sounds interesting!! He's on Cowley Road, if you know it? I think its an industrial estate type thingie. I think its the top end of Cambs, if that makes sense?

Fantastic theme shot. I like all the pastelly colours. It's very Mondriany :o) xx
September 16th, 2012
Judith this is excellent and the abstract feel is very much outside your normal genre of photographs . we did (2) today !!!
September 16th, 2012
@judithg I know - near the Science Park - pretty close in fact!
September 16th, 2012
This is a fun shot for the theme. I am SOOOO jealous of no. 3, not sure when we are getting it here....please don't tell me anything about it!!!
September 16th, 2012
This is terrific.
September 17th, 2012
looks like lots boxes
September 17th, 2012
The architect clearly put some thought into how the glass was used and patterned, and worked with a talented quantity surveyor
September 17th, 2012
Very cool architecture!
September 17th, 2012
That's just perfect for the theme - hope it gets chosen for the final five! Glad your hen is cured, too. And I'm thinking about starting Downtown Abbey - husband and I are looking for something new to watch besides Doctor Who which is sometimes too scary for the evening...
September 17th, 2012
Very geometrical! I wonder how tall the building is.
September 17th, 2012
I love the array of reflected colours Judith. Love the contrast of the dark and light frames against the pastel colours. Great find and so very well captured.
September 17th, 2012
Fantastic lines and shapes!
September 17th, 2012
1 yay
2 yay
3 no yay
Cool graphic shot
September 17th, 2012
Not the type of architecture I'm used to seeing posted from your part of the planet...but very interesting and certainly theme perfect!
That hairy spider of a past post must have relocated or been dispatched allowing you to harvest the blackberries. Hope they were delicious!
September 17th, 2012
@peggysirk Disappointingly small TBH Peggy - required some intrepid climbing and reaching and directing of Nigel.... But they will make bramble jelly so it doesn't really matter apart from being hard to get enough.
September 17th, 2012
I think it is a cool shot, not sure if is a cool building, some of these old buildings are nice.
September 17th, 2012
Love it !
September 17th, 2012
@jannaellen Season 1 brilliant, Season 2 increasingly farcical but still beautiful to watch, Season 3 early days!
September 17th, 2012
