Another freezing days with flurries of snow. Dismal, grey, cold wind, I confess my attempts to embrace winter are failing rapidly. I want to stay in, get over warm and eat bad things. Which is possibly why I had to change my new White Stuff trousers for the next size up. And they didn't have the colour I bought yesterday so I went with purple and now I've realised that with my purple dog-walking jacket and purple gloves I'm going to look like one of those mad people who only wear purple. I nipped into town to change the trousers while Adam was doing hockey training and was sucked into Yo! Sushi for takeaway lunch on the way home. I was waiting for hot Ramen at this point and the place was almost empty so belts for the dishes were full and the trundling of the conveyor and the blue bubble lights (which turn pink if you press the 'waiter' button) caught my eye. And as nothing else I took was remotely useable this is it for today I'm afraid.
Three good things:
1. Bottle of Chardonnay in the fridge
2. You lovely people quite unexpectedly putting Shades of Grey on the PP.
3. Lying on the sofa with the fire on all afternoon watching "All Creatures Great and Small' and thinking how beautiful the Yorkshire Dales are and that I might almost be tempted to put my coat on and take the dog out over those hills (but since we don't have them I was very happy that Nigel was walking him instead).
Soooo I'm glad that the conclusion of this length tale was that the Yorkshire Dales rule! Although I quite like ramen noodles too. btw are you still planning to go to London on Thursday? My friend has her book launch on Friday and I'm toying with the idea of spending a fortune to come down for both if I can get anywhere near caught up at work first.
A very funny story - I actually laughed out loud at the thought of you all dressed in purple - isn't it only people of a certain age who wear purple? I like the shot very much, love the colours and the thought of all that hot food going round.
@fueast Yes but I'll have to get a train back at 8.30pm courtesy of my husband going to Blackburn on Thursday evening (on the excuse of earning money - tsk) and the boy being a right wimp about being on his own. So I don't know what time everybody else is going to be available - if not till 7 it will probably be a bit of a non-starter for me!
This bitter weather nearly sent me back to the duvet this afternoon.
Luckily a good frien has just given me a cashmere/lambswool jumper as she never feels the cold . Perfect answer. i can cope with the itch as long as i'm warm.
Hurrah for friends
funny as always :) aww i used to love all creatures great and small ,,what channel is it on?? oh on pp again cant remember what that feels like tough crowd this year should be proud lady :)
@fueast No numbers!! I'll have a nag tomorrow when I'm being less grumpy - there's been major man flu in our house all week and I've had enough now - hope nobody ever gets proper I'll because 3 days is the limit of my sympathy.
Great shot Judith. I tried to take this same shot when shopping last week but it was rubbish so well done you for making such a good job of it. I've had enough of the cold as well and only left the house long enough to eat a roast dinner at the local carvery and then back to the fire. Well done on the PP - well deserved,
What a great read, I have visions of you marching forth in all your purples, my favourite colour so no problem there. We all seem to be struggling with this miserable weather and like you food and wine seems to be the sensible solution! Yay to Yo Sushi, great shot, and congrats on PP knew it was a fab shot.
Well it sounds as though you have had a cosy afternoon , we went for a walk in the woods taking photographs in this weather is not good as I have to take my gloves off ,resulting in hot aches,
Purple, sushi and James Herriot. You made me chuckle. Love sushi and love All creatures even better. Bought the box set and we all love it. This shot is excellent, especially like the figure in red. Well done on the PP it was an amazing capture.
Far too young to wear purple & spit Judith!!! Sushi is a very healthy & low calorie food isn't it so you did well there...i was on the scales last night & I am the heaviest I have ever been without being pregnant.....I will have to look at the two day diet!!!!!!
I too am reluctant to go out these days, the fire is very attractive but i have enjoyed a walk this afternoon.
A very sophisticated sushi bar ....love the water system!
Hi Billy no mates....I think you are so funny...had to pour another glass of wine to leave a comment....oh yeah any excuse!! Good old Nigel walking the dog and all the rest..............never been to Yo cos I live in deepest Sussex but we do have a Costa coffee!!
I only saw the tops of those light s and thought "YO"! great shot - love a bit of sushiyou really ought to come up to the Dales with me and Fueast in the fine weather....
Great, fun picture! Good composition. Now I want to go. The last time I was in a sushi restaurant with a conveyor (boats, actually) I was only eating veggie sushi so I couldn't grab random things. Next time I will go crazy.
Ok great shot - love your pov - but l also enjoyed your commentary....rained
all day here, some flooding, so l stayed in and ate those bad things too:)
Love the purple pants story...so, what color did you end up with on the last exchange? Curious minds want to know. :) All Creatures Great and Small...is that the same series of the 80's based on James Herriot's books? Loved the books and loved the show. Hope you enjoyed that Chardonnay while staying tucked up and warm inside!
@peggysirk I didn't write this very well - I still have the purples but they are too big (hurrah!) so they are going back soon and I will try the next lot on!! Might be pink....
Hands up! I have had a purple only day without realising before a parent on the school run pointed it out! Sushi would be like a bush tucker trial for me, and now I have nice warm fuzzy thoughts about watching all creatures great and small on a Sunday when I was a child :) Thanks for bringing back those memories (Do you remember another Sunday evening programme in the 80's I should think called one by one, it was a zoo series?)

Is Yo! sushi good, or merely ubiquitous?

I'm one of those mad people who wear purple btw. ;)
