After dropping Adam at school for the coach to Uppingham I braced myself and took Monty on to the Gogs. Despite flurries of snow it wasn't as cold as the last couple of days and the sun even thought about breaking through. They are mending fences and rearranging paths up there so it's a bit 'off' at the moment but you do get some nice layers off in to the distance.
I haven't read the book (see title) - everybody I've asked says it's written really badly - too many well-written books that I'm yet to get through! I tried out the new effect 'Ombre' from PicMonkey on this as straight B&W was a bit too - well - grey really.
Three good things:
1. Some new jeans and socks from White Stuff - hope the jeans fit as I didn't try them on.
2. Being instructed not to Hoover yesterday - I am very obedient :0).
2. 0-0 against Uppingham - it was about 11-0 last year so a draw is a very good thing.
Lovely image! And the title is very fitting for it. I'm just in the middle of the first book (my friend dared me to read and I'm just that crazy), and it is rather awful. :D Quick read, though, so won't take a lot of time from the good books. :P
wonderful composition and a fave for me too. as for the book it was very badly written and not too far off a Mills and Boon with a bit of imagination lol
The lines of trees help layer this shot so nicely! As for the book, some cannot put it down, others say its absorbing, others say they won't read the other two books!
Love the layers and shapes and the ethereal quality in your shot. Thank you for saying what you used on picmonkey as I might like to have a try with it too.
@joa@suesmith@bpaquette@cookie123@maggiemae My friend was telling me that her friend's kids are at the same school as the author's and it's all a bit awkward at parents' evening as everybody knows what she's written. No trouble affording the school fees though!
A draw is good...well done Adam for keeping them at bay!! love these layers of grey & a great title...ombre effect, is that what you get when you pay, I haven't plumped to pay anything yet but am tempted.
I agree with Barbara & found it rather entertaining...we have no taste!!!!! Love White Stuff & always remember a lovely linen shirt I bought in a shop in Cambridge when the brand was quite new, must have been 20 years ago.
A fav, for sure, Judith. Thanks for letting us know you used PicMonkey on it, though, otherwsie I'd be incredibly jealous of your natural view. I'm going to have to try some of the effects....
I also heard the book was not worth the read, so have given it a pass.
Oh clever you making a fairly grim day look enchantingly beautiful, love itI gave up pic monkey about 4 months ago, might have to have another peek!! fav
What a naughty title ;). Lovely layers and I'm sure there are worlds between the quality of this shot and the quality of the book (as I have heard, I can also waste my time better than with reading that).
this is beautiful - sorry I've not been commenting at all for weeks - your photos are all stunning. I feel very ashamed of my woeful attempts lately, but lack of time and inspiration are conspiring against me!
Stunning photo, Judith! (if something tranquil can be stunning). I love the ombre effect and will try that out sometime. You were well-rewarded for your hardiness.
As for 50 shades, I recommend a LOLcats translation of it. I did have to read an excerpt to understand the cat-speak, but it was worth it!
Lovely layers. I've heard it's a very badly written piece too. I read a review to that effect and decided it wasn't worth my time effort and as I have an ever growing pile of 'normal' books to be read once this years psych books are done with I'd rather read something decent xx
Absolutely amazing layers and graduating shades of grey!! You've made a grey winter's day look incredible! I've not read the books either...I'm afraid that might speak to my age. :)
Hilarious title. Love the foggy scene and the layers of gray. It makes me bite my bottom lip looking at this;-). I love to read...and didn't mind these books.
