Not a duckling by judithg

Not a duckling

I dragged Monty (sometimes literally) down the towpath this morning in search of cute ducklings. But there was a big rowing event on and not a cute baby bird in sight so I took lots of boats instead. They are OK but I'm just not feeling them - consequently you have the bicycle of one of the race marshals. The weather was doing just about everything - sun, rain, hail - so I think she would have liked to get on her bike and go home. Sorry for lack of commenting - I hope to get going on the iPad tonight - no news on my Mac yet...
Three good things:
1. Adam still working away bless him - just as well because I had a revision dream last night!
2. Rachel and Nigel have at least one medal each in their karate competition because I checked in with granddad who went along this morning.
3. Lovely comments and favs on 'My magnolia' - much appreciated!

More magnolia in Extras http://365project.org/judithg/extras/2013-04-27
An interesting muriel as they say in Bristol. The magnolia pic was ace and well deserved PP. We also had rain, hail, sun and add a snow flurry. :)

@malc Oh showing off now! If we'd had snow I might have cried!

We are going to look for a magnolia tree to buy tomorrow not sure if it's the right time to buy when they are in bloom but we shall see!
Dawes that is an old name .....a very ''rich'' wall!! Was going to put Kalidascope but spell check can't spell it!!!!
Well done to all your inspired family!

@happypat I think we are going to have to go tree buying to replace one of our miniature cherries - seems to have succumbed to the winter. I think magnolias may grow quite fast because Terry (my mystery letter writer sent me some photos of the garden in 1957 and it wasn't there then. We prune it most summers as the branches get heavy and it's still huge (in Extras).

I have just seen yours in extras...you are right, huge!!!
April 27th, 2013
@happypat I suppose it could be 60 years old - so maybe not that fast growing!!

Love those muted colours on the wall. An excellent backdrop.

Ooooh, I used to have a Dawes bicycle back in the 80s complete with wicker basket! A nostalgic photo with the modern juxtaposition of that 'muriel!' ........

..as much that i'm well into graff, not so keen on that piece sorry, but the bike action against it looks just fine mind.

i didn't think they did graffiti in Cambridge....the little branch and leaves peeking into the frame look a tad surreal against the wall

@sleepdozer57 It's not a legal wall - it did have a splendid piece for a while though but some idiot scrawled over it. SHould have chosen a more sensible name for the mutt!
