I thought this swan had a very pretty nest amongst the reeds and she was busy fussing and rearranging the moss. It must get a bit boring sitting there all day waiting but once those cygnets are hatched she'll be wishing she had a spare few minutes for a quiet cup of tea....
Three good things:
1. A beautiful Bank Holiday Monday - the tourist trade will be mightily relieved.
2. The hammock has made its first outing for a long time (haven't had a lie down in it yet though).
3. I've made the long distance hose pipe work and only got sprayed three times by the exploding tap.
What a beautiful graceful sight ....her neck is arched so perfectly. Those reeds in the background are very soft like a curtain!! Hope they all hatch safely.
We have had a swans nest on a pond at the side of the busy A586 for the last few years...everyone does worry that they stay safe but OK so far.....no babies yet.
@happypat There are quite a few nests which incorporate plastic bags and junk so it was nice to see this one - in the country park so a bit nicer apart from the nearby sewage works!!
Great softness..This nesting makes me think of my neighbor whose baby is now 6 weeks old - during her pregnancy she kept moaning about how much laying around she was doing. Haha for a moment of that now!!
the one I saw , she was hunkered right down and just a white heap.
Like you , i'll hope or the family.
