The magnolia tree is fading fast blossom wise but the old Bramley apple tree is in its high yield year and it looks and smells gorgeous. We let patches of cow parsley grow at this time of year as well so it all goes a bit 'country'. When we first moved in 15 years ago we had a lovely picnic sitting on the grass on a blanket while the removal men argued about who was going to bring in the heavy stuff.
I'm late posting because it was a long, busy and tiring day and I was working all evening.
Three good things:
1. The exams finally started.
2. Checked with one of my 6 year old readers that if he was sounding out the word 'house' in his head he was saying 'ou' and not 'o, u' and he said, 'I am now, at first I thought it was a split digraph.' If I'd known what I was doing I was have told him to look at the diphthong but I need a few more lessons before I can catch up with year 1...
3. I don't have a prodigy to raise - I'm still reading 'Far from the Tree' and the choices and decisions to be made as a parent all seem to be wrong.
Your country garden sounds lovely Judith my favourite wild flower ...cow parsley...I think gardens can be far too regimented for my liking!!!
Your second good thing is priceless..I don't even know properly what he was talking about!!!
BTW Judith I am half way through The Hand that First Held Mine...I am pretty sure you recommended that ....I am enjoying it immensely but cannot fathom yet the connection between the two parties.
@happypat Oh yes I did! Half way through - you start to get hints but it keeps your interest right to the end. Looking forward to a proper discussion about it when you've finished - maybe over coffee :0))
What lovely soft colors - love your processing. Those kids are something else! We are on our wind-down for doing library and therapy dog, very little interest in the summer, so we will volunteer at a nearby school for special needs kids that works year-round.
