Give me your answer do

I'm sure somebody will put me right and point out that these aren't actually daisies. The chalk downs at the Gog Magogs are awash with them at the moment. And I felt like they should be teeming with butterflies and bees but alas I didn't see a single butterfly and very few bees. There is still a claustrophobic layer of low heavy cloud and temperatures are cool.
But 3 GT:
1. One more day of revision to go.
2. The gas men are replacing our dodgy pipes tomorrow.
3. We will HAVE to clear Rachel's junk out of the hall so that they can do it.
PS For @sparkle - stretched a lot due to sore hamstrings & ok today apart from the downstairs/downhill malarky.
Such a strange name the Gog Magogs, I'm sure you must have told us why they are called that at some point....hope the bees & butterflies return soon!
Pretty focus & now I am singing ''Daisy, Daisy.....'
One way of clearing stuff..you do realise this is going to happen every year at this time!!

Love your graduated focus (I am sure that is a very un-photographic term) very pretty. We have 3 hives here if you want to see some bees, we have spare bee suits.

I should know the name - just can't bring it to mind. Very pretty shot though. We had loads of bees today especially on the raspberries and loganberries.

Love the clarity of the first one with the other two fading into the background. I think we had summer last Thursday ;)

A great shot - I like the focus.

Lovely is right.

@happypat Named after the giants Gog and Magog (as in Mrs Gog). The Gog and Magog names appear in the Old Testament but seem to be very ancient terms for various races and also primal deities. In Ariana Franklin's Novel 'Mistress of the Art of Death' the Gog Magog's are said to be haunted by malevolent spirits - I think it was fear of hills as they were such a novelty in 12th century Cambridge!

Love how you did this dof with them getting progressively more blurry and the diagonal is perfect

@lucypics Might take you up on that when we get back from Florence - and a doggy walk?
June 10th, 2013
Very pretty. 50mm?

June 10th, 2013

Brilliant focus
June 10th, 2013
They aren't Daisy's :P
Cool DoF and shot
June 10th, 2013
Love the composition & DoF.
If these aren't daises then I really don't know the names of any flowers. ;)
June 10th, 2013
Sure look like Daisies to me! Close enough! Gog Magog just feels so fun to say out loud.
June 10th, 2013
Nicely done. A great lesson in dof
June 10th, 2013
I nearly posted some daisies today (Ox eye ones at that!). I'm glad I didn't as they weren't half as good as these - Fav
June 10th, 2013
Did you use your macro for this great shot! Never heard of ox-eye daisies - they are probably called something else here but loved hearing about the Chalk Downs!
June 10th, 2013
They look like daisies to me, but hey, what do I know. Lovely shot xx
June 10th, 2013

June 10th, 2013

June 10th, 2013

June 10th, 2013
The focus and dof are great...whatever the flower is. :0)
June 10th, 2013
Great dof
June 10th, 2013
Gotta love a daisy!
June 10th, 2013
They are man made touched with a few glasses of chardonnay to make them rise above the pink elephants seen this time of year..but only in the grim north so quick ride upon the bicycle and delight...
June 10th, 2013
Very nice shot, great composition and DOF
June 11th, 2013
.....I'm half cra-zy......
I love all of the daisies and buttercups out :)
June 11th, 2013
I really like the depth of field you chose. Good luck with the clearing away :).
June 11th, 2013
Simply beautiful
June 11th, 2013
Great dof and better than the one I've taken today so on to plan B. The Gog Magogs are not hills - merely ground that is a little higher than the flat surrounds :)

JH
V pretty whether daisies or not.

Before we got ourselves in the family way JB and I were planning some bike based sort-of nuptials for this summer. Now it'll have to be a bicycle made for three!
June 13th, 2013
Love this dof!
June 14th, 2013
