I was having a lunchtime cup of coffee in the rocking chair that I've been painting up for garden use (there are technical difficulties when it comes to relaxing as there always seems to be an animal asleep underneath the rocking part) and the Woodland Brown butterfly kept landing on my leg or book. Eventually retreated inside for my camera which was of course the signal for it to clear off. However it did return and rest for a while on my stone companion. There are all sorts for technical issues with this shot but I still rather like it.
Three GT:
1. Off to see my first hockey match of the season later this evening
2. Some treatment for Rachel's shoulder (tendonitis - not good news)
3. A productive morning work wise.
This is really beautiful must give it a fav its charming. sorry to hear Rachels has tendinitis hope the treatment helps. How I wish I could still play hockey I use to love playing
I just love your lovely girl in your garden Judith, the little butterfly looks like a bow in her hair!
I am always on the look out in garden centres for a stone girl like this but they always look concrety & modern...yours is beautiful...do I know where you live!!!!!
Funny about the sleping animals I could just imagine that would be a problem! Hope Rachel gets some relief before going back to uni.
@happypat Yes it took us ages to find her - they can be a bit 'naff' but in the end she was in our local garden centre - well you won't be getting my address now ;0))
It's a beautiful stone statue - I love her reflective face - and the butterfly is a lovely ornament. I really like the dark background and the bits of bokeh.
Fabulous lighting on the face and butterfly. Like the dark background. Fav. Bummer re tendinitis....the thing that always works best for me with tendinitis is acupuncture
As usual, I look forward to your photo explanations! A rocking chair in a garden with a statue (not a gnome) like this sounds idyllic! Butterflies are real and not on a wall!
You are ever so good at capturing things with spectacular timing!!! Love this girl, too. Poor Rachel - is Monty off the hook since tendinitis doesn't usually just happen - am sure punting hasn't helped.
Just a +FAV +FAV +FAV shot judith...really well spotted, gr8 light, gr8 composition... reminds me a bit of a scene from the Les Mis film when Cosette sings about her love for Marius and a butterfly flutters onto the gate of her house.
I love this...the light is so perfect and the butterfly is the icing on this marvelous composition. My first thought about Rachel's shoulder was the same as @bpaquette 's. Sounds like punting is at least partially to blame and not sweet Monty. Regardless of the circumstances, I hope that she recovers posthaste! And I am too familiar with those rocking chair issues...why is it that animals can't sense the danger. :)
