Well I spoke too soon on the Monty front as they want to keep him until Monday just to make sure that when he leaves the hospital he will have recovered sufficiently that he won't damage himself in all the excitement. It's disappointing but sensible I think. In his absence, Rachel accompanied me on a little photo walk and we eventually got in to Queens' College even though it seemed to be shut. In fact in a disregard for authority normally associated with her brother she made me go up to the top of one of the buildings but we couldn't get out of the door on to the terrace thing unfortunately. Anyway it is a very beautiful very well preserved ancient college mixed with some absolutely dreadful modern architecture (and I'm not saying that just because it's modern - it is actually dreadful). And it was raining - and I had my 50mm lens on which wasn't really ideal but it was nice to venture somewhere a bit different.
Three GT:
1. It's Friday Cake day (or as Rachel has renamed it - Fat-gain Friday) and today that means Millionaires' Shortbread.
2. The vet student was telling me how fantastic it's been to follow Monty's case as it's the sort of unusual thing that primary care vets come across and it's nice to have seen it.
3. I have spent my Christmas money and bought a Billinghams camera bag - I am very excited - I just hope it's not too big - wondering if I should have gone for a small one.
Oh Judith you are so lovely, thank you so much for the mention I am a very lucky and feel blessed to,have so many lovely friends here. Love this shot, the light and the little cluster of people under umbrellas so beautifully framed. I so feel for you being apart from Monty, I bet you just want to give his fluffy muzzle a huge smackeroonie and when you do give him one from me too. Fav
Is this taken with your 50mm Judith.....i am impressed with the focus,,,,didn't think it would be able to take a clear & visible photo of people so far away!!
Love the glow & warmth here ...you can make a rainy day almost a bonus!
A Billingham bag, never heard of that make.....must google them. You did well keeping your Christmas money until now!!!!
Nice shot Judith - at least you managed to get out! Hope Monty is fully recovered when you finally get him home! It will be worth the wait if he doesn't have any more problems
Too bad on the lack of a dog to walk for a few days, hope Monty is better soon. Good to hear about your cake days - it's cake day every day here at the moment!
Oh dear, poor Monty, and poor you missing him. Hope he improves really soon. Fab shot. I'm always wary of using my 50mm for shots like this but you've managed to pull it off xx
@padlock Hadley Pro (mail order from Park!) in sage and tan. I want to get my camera plus zoom plus 2 lenses plus wallet plus dog water etc in it but otherwise be as small as possible and I spent the whole morning trawling the internet trying to get a feel for which one!
undercover was the best option for today....i didn't do my lunchtime work walk ...it was pouring down....I'm quite hardy walking in all weather...but 1pm in Basford was appalling....nice shot Judith and i like the colourful bokeh people and brollies....i look forward to a Monty pic on his return home :)
...forgot to say....Billinghams camera bag... nice choice...very classic....my camera bag was bundled in with my first DSLR camera back in the day....Crumpler.
