Obviously a bit rubbish but less rubbish than the 'rain drops on pond in the almost dark' alternative. And (1) taken today so I am keeping up with the challenge and (2) actually a good sign. Every time Monty is allowed out of his crate he tries to have a good shake but for the last few weeks that has involved 'thinking' about shaking his head and ending up with just a good bottom shake (imagine a duck). Today he is off the painkillers and actually managed to shake his head - not 100% but a big improvement (sort of - hope he doesn't do any damage).
Three GT:
1. Monty is coping without the painkillers - he was only just coping with them on Monday - there was the occasional yelp.
2. He is still sleeping most of the day which is a relief as he is so confined.
3. I 'had' to sit and read my book for an extra half hour this afternoon as I'd let him snooze in his basket but didn't dare leave him out of his crate unattended - in fact the cat came crashing through the catflap so I had to do an emergency return to crate.
Must be almost like having a baby again Judith......so glad he is continuing to improve.....he always looks so woolly & soft to me & little fat feet...not being rude but he is so cuddly!!
@happypat His feet have always been massive & we keep them well trimmed as well! From above you can tell he's lost a bit of weight so I'm trying hard to keep him at that - I've cut his meals back but it's hard to know how much to feed him while he's so inactive.
The dog shake is something to watch but in Monty's case I would be nervous he would damage something! Can't stop him though. Might be an idea to give him a good brush but then he would probably shake after that!
@jewelsandbinoculars Nicci French 'Blue Monday' - it's the first if a 5-logy (what is the word for that). I've already read the 2nd & 3rd books so had a good idea what happened but I still enjoyed it. Not heavy reading - psychology murder police job but the author is actually 2 people so the plot is very tight - I got fed up with poorly edited books where half the plot fizzled out.
He looks like a puppy here, maybe the rest has done him good. Many is he insisting in shaking? Not the most sensible activity but then again you can't stop him I guess.
@lucypics he shakes and shakes and shakes - hasn't got the full head action going yet so that's a relief. Don't know if it's the harness or the stitches itching or just the confinement or whether it's because his neck feels weird because he was the same before he op.
I think a little shaking would be an indication that Monty is on the mend. I can't imagine that he'd want to do that if pain were involved. He is so darn cute...I love those big feet. Give your boy a head rub from me and good thoughts for continued improvement!
