We had an amazing day that started at Le Jardin des Plantes with a trip round the Grande Galerie de l'Évolution so that Adam could take masses of photos for his next art piece (the exam is looming), segued into a walk to Place des Vosges via Bastille for lunch (more old style Parisien - 'Get in! Sit!' and not a smile from the waiter - though the place was full of chatting French people and the only other English family had a mobile device each and didn't speak to each other so I sympathised with the waiter), followed by a lovely meandering walk through the Marais and ended with the Louvre in the evening. All of us were rather too tired for the Louvre but two of us didn't dare mention it as Nigel had been saying, 'We'll be too tired for the Louvre' for most of the day! Anyway - a taxi home and then Adam found a restaurant about 6 paces from the hotel with good reviews on Trip Advisor. We were lucky to walk in from the street and get a table and those reviews were absolutely justified. Charming staff and the most delicious meal I've had in a long time - black sausage on a Dauphinoise of new potatoes made with a sheep's cheese which was melted, leaving its crispy, herby coating on top of the sausages. There was something green but I can't remember what!
Three GT:
1. La Grappe - 6 Rue du Petit Pont
2. Excellent wine list at La Grappe as well - I was definitely a little squiffy at one point
3. A happy tired walk after dinner

You rocked this shot. A very cool composition. And it sounds like a fabulous day...so much to do and so little time. Your dinner at La Grappe has me in a gourmand stupor just thinking about it. As for the wine list and 'squiffy'...Santé!
That is a very unusual shot for Paris - well done on not walking on the well-worn paths there which is so hard in Paris ;). When I took a French course near Paris I went to the Jardin and the Gallery of Evolution and looooved it. I was all alone and it was one of the best days ever ;). Still would love to see Adam's photography - maybe some day you can convince him ;).
I have JUST finished my dinner, but your restaurant review had me salivating! Oh yes, and it doesn't do to tell them that they were right all along - it goes to their heads don't you know
