I took Monty along the river bank this afternoon and my car thermometer was reading 18.5*C on the way there. So lovely feeling the warmth in the sun. I was a little less enamoured to find that I'd forgotten my memory stick and that not one but two spares are broken (locked and with the switch broken - Adam denies all knowledge....) So it was over to the iPhone which at least managed to catch a duck coming purposefully up river if miles away. In fact lots of duck shenanigans going on - ducklings on the way :0)
Three GT:
1. Monty put the brakes on because he didn't want to head for home :0))
2. Glorious weather
3. Film night with the boy - 'The Book Thief'. Good but lacking all of the tension of the book - it failed completely to portray the risks many of the characters took by not embracing the Nazi Party etc. And it would have been better in German with subtitles than going for the accent IMO.
Spring will be good for Monty. There was a mega frog orgy going on up Timble Ings. Very funny to watch their heads poking up and down looking for action.
Nicely captured duck - better viewed large. I've started uploading from the memory stick now so am at risk of leaving it behind too. I used to upload straight from the camera. Thanks for the tip abut the Book Thief. I haven't seen it yet but enjoyed the book.
It definitely looks like spring has arrived in England but she's been delayed crossing the ocean -- missed her flight or forgot to renew her passport or made a joke about the bomb in her suitcase.
nice feeling of spring and brilliant news about Monty I don't want to watch the Book Thief because I know I'll just be disappointed. (I got to watch Non-Stop last week, and I won't recommend that one either - trying to see how much time is left several times during an action thriller is not a good sign)
Thank goodness for iPhones in a pinch. Lovely capture! I loved "The Book Thief" when I read it years ago. Was thinking about taking my mom to see the movie...might reconsider and go see 'Twelve Years a Slave' or "Philomena".
@phil_howcroft Well it was very pretty to watch so colour was good - and the boy's yellow hair is significant - it just didn't quite have that intangible factor that separates the OK from the brilliant.
Nice film critique, would it have worked in black and white (the film not your photo )
