Bit of a diary shot today. Adam, now being a 6th former, was playing against the 'old boys' hockey teams. They had one game for players who left up to 4 years ago and another for any older than that - the oldest there left 20 years ago. There were lots of old boys who are not only sensible and upstanding members of society but successful in a whole range of careers - gives you hope really!! This is one of the younger old boys wearing an England shirt signed and donated by Glenn Kirkham. He has captained both England and GB and coached at the school for at least 7 years but is about to move on to pastures new. The boys will miss him - he's been a hero for a lot of them. In case you're wondering there were old girls playing netball - they only date back to 1995 when the 6th form went co-ed but are certainly a bonus in the school at all ages now.
nice day for a game of hockey - beats playing in the snow! Shame you didn't make it yesterday, but hope you had a nice time with Rachel home. Isla and I were saying we should fix a date to go and visit @happypat...
This photo means something familiar to me too Judith....the small town of Kirkham is only about 5 miles from me so I am very used to seeing that name. I remember this guys name from before ....I remember you telling us about him at the Olympics I think!
A fine & lasting reminder of their teacher.
@sparkle You & Judith plus anyone else can come & visit any time Juliette.... we could have a photo meet up here!
