Cropped a little close to the top but it's not easy with daddy swan hissing at dog who is trying to eat cowpats..... Apologies for yesterday's grumpiness and I do hope to get back to commenting properly soon but there is an Ironing Spring going on in our spare room and if I don't tackle it tonight I will have to surrender and move home.
Three good things:
1. I have not dropped the dinner, burnt myself or spent hours juggling photos on to back up drives only to find that the computer is still 'full'.
2. I have done battle with a patio slab and decided that the professional cleaning company will not be able to get the algae off. This saves us a lot of money - but I HATE that job!
3. Stephen Sutton - 19 year old cancer sufferer who is clinging on to life but will hopefully survive to see his fundraising reach £2 million as it is climbing at a phenomenal rate. Puts everything in to perspective - what a star.
Exciting times ahead for this soon to be parent. Lovely shot. Uggghh Monty, what is he thinking of? Saying that, I used to take my shoes and socks off and skid through the cow pats, the ones with a thin film were the best (once a country girl, always a country girl). Yes amazing about Stephen Sutton. I shall pledge tonight! Ironing, thanks for reminding me (not)
What a beautiful shot, such clarity. Hmmm, yes I should be ironing right now....but i'll just browse a little longer!
Stephen Sutton is incredible, it is very humbling all he has achieved.
That is some awe inspiring nest......such a strong looking affair which I suppose it would need to be....swans must weigh a fair bit. I congratulate you being brave enough to go near these massive birds......they could do you a bit of damage so be careful specially when the eggs hatch! Your doer hand would be nothing compared to being whacked into the water by one of them!......
I agree about Stephen...makes our niggles look nothing!
Have only just seen this lovely shot. I love the detail in the swan (and the nest) - I find them so hard to photograph and got plenty of shots of white blobs on holiday. fav.
I was thinking of "your" san family this morning and was hoping to see update about it! thanks Judith and this gorgeous pic of mama the swan deserves a fav
