This cat was NOT impressed with Monty innocently wandering along. Mind you he wouldn't have been so innocent if he'd seen the cat.
So all was going well with the shed completion until I got a phone call from the furious designer saying that I'd misled them about it being too small and the roof was the right size as quoted. I had two responses to that - firstly nobody bases a quotation on roof size - not even their own website which has beautiful technical drawings of their standard size sheds clearly stating that a 9 x 7 foot shed is actually 9'3" by 7'3" at the base (because of corner trim) and considerably bigger if you measure the roof. He then claimed that for bespoke sheds they used the roof for their dimensions so I pointed out that the length of our shed is as quoted at the base and quite a bit bigger on the roof whereas the depth is smaller than quoted on the base and correct for the roof so was he using two different rules within the same shed? At that point he muttered that it was very expensive to get CAD drawings and I said he didn't need CAD drawings he just needed to be consistent. I am pretty sure that they did mean to quote for the base size and were trying to wriggle out of the price reduction they agreed with me (which was generous but given their option of making a whole new one and having to find a buyer for the one we've got - quite a niche market - I thought was reasonable on both sides). But I'm going to need a G&T now - I can't cope with being accused of lying - must be the catholic schooling!
Three GT:
1. I do understand maths.
2. The young lad did a lovely job finishing the shed and was very nice - possibly because I made him lots of tea and fed him.
3. Take away.
Oh dear how very unpleasant...I hate confrontation! Some body has just given me a very barbed remark which I pretended I didn't know what she was talking about but has quite upset me...wimp that I am!!
The customer is always right anywayZ,
Wonderful little cat nest...high up so she can survey the world!
A double G&T!
@quietpurplehaze@jantan@happypat Quite pleased that I was assertive today (yesterday I would have cried - wasn't in the mood for it) but it leaves a really horrible feeling afterwards. @happypat you should have decked her ;0)). Thinking I'm going to change my title!!
Must admit I would be furious too - sounds like he is the one trying to pull the wool over someone's eyes.
