The buddleia along the river have been a bit disappointing on the butterfly front so far but the tortoiseshells have arrived in force now. I also took a rather lovely and much less abundant red admiral but couldn't get the angle I wanted with actually getting in the river.
Three GT:
1. It's nearly karate world champs time - I'd really like to get them on their way instead of having them sitting around being nervous/excited.
2. Two nice European men relaxing by the river with beers and cigarettes who were very laid back about Monty helping himself to their packet of biscuits. They said, 'We don't mind, he's lovely.' 'And fat', I thought.
3. I rescued a grass seed before it worked its way down Monty's ear canal.
I agree with Lisa...the butterfly bush and the butterfly...are just alot of gorgeous colors. I planted lantana and buddleia late last summer. I mostly wanted the lantana because it attracts hummingbirds and butterflies so well. The butterfly bush..not so much..but I still like them.
