the crabs are very important on the island - there are numerous signs urging people to take care to not run them over
We drive around robber crabs not over them as they are likely to raise up their front legs when a vehicle approaches and this could cause the legs to be injured and the death of the crab. Today's photo is a bit of a lazy option due to extremely poor weather on my way home from work. This was taken through the car windscreen, between swipes of the windscreen wiper blades. But it is in keeping with the general crab theme of several of my posts.
The weather was so intense that the flight from Perth was unable to land, apparently they made 4-5 attempts and ended up turning back - I'd hate to turn back after a 5 hour flight over the Indian Ocean.
