Star trails from my front porch - I am determined to get a decent star trail picture
This is not it! But a photo with a nearly 40 min exposure taken just after midnight is too much effort and sleep deprivation to not post it. Too much light pollution here for good bright stars so my road trip will head away from big cities.
I think this is awesome!! Well done!! Imagine what you'd get if you went out Broken Hill way?? I remember visiting relo's out western NSW and being dazzled by the darkness in the sky and brightness of the diamonds ... I mean the stars.

I have to stack my images, I usually set my camera on 30 sec exposures (any more and light pollution ruins the shot, it is that bright here at night) and lock it with a remote and set it to continuous mode. Then come back hours later and stack all the images together using a free program called startrails (it is German but in English).
