We took my aunt on a day trip today to see some Australian landscape and went to Wilson's Promontory. I am not sure why the granite boulders are stained red, I believe it may be due to a red algae on them. So many of the beaches were beautiful wide stretches of sand, the surf, deep blue skies and the beaches fringed with large granite formations. The mountains also had large expanses of granite. The boulder in the foreground is probably about 3 metres tall, so imposing. I liked the contrast of that deep blue sky (with awesome wispy clouds), the rocks and that white quartz sand which squeaks as you walk on it
Great composition! We visited that beach a while back but I don't remember the boulders (it was a pretty grey, wet day when we went though!) Your shot is great!
@aikimomm thank you your comment made my day. I had contemplated posting another shot a wide angle showing all of the rocks, I'm glad I went with this shot
