ate too much at Christmas lunch leading to a walk with my camera (after the storms had passed) - White Necked Heron
Merry Christmas everyone.
I was too busy playing with my nephews and spending time with family to capture any festive shots to share.
I was the "go to" person they chose when wanting help to assemble toys, put together Lego and other fun. At lunch, as with every year they loved pulling the Christmas crackers, and showed very little interest in the little slips of paper with the terrible jokes.
I grabbed the older one and told him it was a joke and he should tell everyone, so we caught his grandparents and parents attention, I whispered the joke to him which he proudly recited and then the punchline which they all dutifully laughed at. His little brother decided this was something he wanted part of so the process repeated, the boys grabbed all the cracker jokes we could and the three of then inflicted them on the family. I really enjoyed this joke telling with the boys and they really seemed to enjoy it too. This is one of the special moments of this Christmas and what Christmas is for me, it is special moments with family.
What a darling memory, sounds like a fun and precious time with family. Children always seem to inherently understand the meaning of the holiday. Merry Christmas!
