my new portable bird hide - Vespa LX 150 ie - Rosa Chic - only 2 this colour in Canberra and 200 in Australia
Last weekend I did the learner motorcycle course and this weekend I bought my Vespa and have been out riding to build up my experience and confidence. I wish I had done it when I was younger and more assured of my invincibility.
I have been out on practice rides and seen whistling kites and a variety of parrots that I have not seen locally in a couple of years. The kite was on a rural road about 5 mins from home and I pulled over to admire it. A big tough bike (not a Harley but similar) pulled up next to me and the rider asked if I was OK, having any problems, I assured him I was fine, just out learning to ride and he nodded, his female passenger said "cute bike" and off they went.
My top box to go on the back is on order and will hold a camera body or two and a couple of lenses.
The late afternoon sun made the colour really glow, and it is reflecting the red gravel of my driveway.
@peterdegraaff well my fave colour is actually purple, but no purple Vespa available at present. I have a pink, purple and black helmet, a purple and black cordura jacket and I have pink cam pattern draggin jeans - bike trousers with a kevlar lining which is more protective of skin than leather (so I am told). I have a purple camouflage pair on order. I have a collecion of colourful doc marten boots including patent hot pink and a purple patent pair, so I will be colourful.
Well Megan, you will have to ride this down to Ocean Grove! You will stand out in the crowd on this very pretty scooter! awesome
Great to see a Whistling Kite so close to home
@tkeen until I get some confidence - that I can respond to anything the other vehicles on the road do I will not be venturing too far from home, however, if you see a pink Vespa in Canberra you have 50-50 chance it will be me
@jenrobcarr I cannot imagine being brave enough to ride all that way, but perhaps one day I will
WOW! Go girl!! This looks brilliant fun - can't wait to see you all dressed up too! (or a shadow of it?!) Oh the adventures of the open road ahead...! :)
Oh man, what fun! Leave it to you to be novel and daring......is your gear also pink?? Should get you around quite nicely..Amused by your narrative. :-) Take care, Les x
Too cute! I hadn't seen one in pink yet, can't even imagine what a blast this is to ride even if you are just learning :) Can't wait to see the selfie all decked out in that awesome sounding riding gear!
