Film February - from one balloon to another - hot air ballooning over Cappadocia
The terrain we flew over in Cappadocia was amazing. It is difficult to see, but on the rock below the bottom left of the ballon ( about SSW on a compass) there are a series of square windows in the rock. After people moved from living in the cave houses in the hills farmers turned them into pigeon houses, keeping the pigeon so they could harvest the droppings to fertilise their fields. Sadly they now use bags of chemical fertiliser form the shops. Such a shame the old ways are lost.
It was so fun flying with the two balloons, the pilot of mine was the husband of the other balloon and they had a friendly competition taking, a bit of a race, a bit of who was higher or who was lower taking the passengers up close to this wild terrain. Made some great photo opportunities too
Wow what stunning 'balloons eye view' , Can see the old pigeon houses, it is a shame they had to start using chemicals. What a great place to go ballooning.
Wow, you went hot air ballooning over Cappadocia? That must have been a wonderful experience. I visited Cappadocia many years ago. It was amazing. I loved seeing Turkey. This is a fantastic shot!
How wondrous! A one-of-a-kind photo Megan! The ballooning soounds a bit a bit hair-raising, but I would DEFINITELY be 'game" for it! I am so pleased for you that you had this memorable experience. :-)
Take care, Les x

@brizmako - ha ha! I'm thinking there maybe a coolio Coffee Bean photo coming up on my project in March for I once met a man in PNG that was passionate about the Bean.
@bobfoto Mareeba? Now you're talking...do you know Bruno Maloberti? On the way out of town towards Chillagoe, coffee farm on the right.
