Imperial Palace Tokyo Moat

photo 461
loved that the palace actually had a moat around it, and we saw swans swimming along the moat (none cooperated for this shot with the wonderful roof shapes). I forgave the sky for being so dull when it dropped a batch of tiny snow flakes on us, in Australia I have seldom had the chance to be in falling snow and it gives me a thrill.
It was wonderful to walk around the gardens, we saw a group of older ladies out for their walk, I was so full of admiration for them getting out and exercising, they were almost doubled over by what I assumed was osteoporosis.

What a lovely place. I really like the off-center composition and how the corners of the building assert themselves to the viewer.

Gosh - what an amazing angular island! Is it natural or man-made and flooded? Incredible sight.. can't even imagine swans improving it!

Awesome Megan - i can relate to watching the elderly exercising. The elderly in China would put most young ones to shame with their flexibility and strength.
