Brolgas on the Stuart Hwy at 130km/h taken through the car windscreen
My first ever sighting of Brolgas and they were trying to become hood ornaments on our hire car.
I am used to a lot of solo travel, so it was great to be driving with friends, I could take in the scenery with camera ever at the ready for a quick shot, I just need to be better at asking them to pull over as shots through the windscreen aren't as good as I would like.
It was a thrill to see these brolgas performing a courtship dance, even if they unwisely chose to perform it in the middle of the road. Brolgas are known for their intricate mating dance.
@jenrobcarr - as requested
not the most brilliant shot - but it brings back many wonderful memories of that trip and now also of the brolgas you showed me
great that they were wary enough to get out of the way!!
This image is amazing since you were traveling so fast!
Thanks for posting, sorry so far behind!
Came to check this out when I read your comment on yesterday's brolga shot. Great capture but how lucky were they to get away from your 130 kmph vehicle!
