on this day ..... a year ago ... I was on a road trip and encountered a creepy-stalker-potential serial killer- type of guy
when I visited a couple of National Parks near Port Lincoln SA.
he followed me from carpark to carpark at different points through the park, if I stopped, so did he, alwasy pulling up right next to me, and once he waved to me (so I stayed in the car and drove off again), if I moved to a different place so did he, if I took a meandering route through large carparks .... so did he. I ended up doubling back and parked behind a clump of trees, I saw him pull into that area and drive around looking for me and then heading off when he didn't see me. So big plans of wildlife photography were abandoned and I departed from the park. So all I got was this lousy late afternoon wildflower shot and a big dose of caution.
I did take a photo of him and his car when he wasn't looking and thought about reporting him to the police, in retrospect I should have reported him.
yes sounds like a total creep, I'm glad nothing terrible happened to you! You have to be so careful on your own in these isolated spots.
The Brolgas haven't come back to Lake Connewarre this year, hope they have found a better place
Sounds like a very creepy experience. You should probably send the photo and details to Crimestoppers - often it's the near-misses that help them solve the big crimes. Pretty shot in this pic anyway.
Yes you definitely should have reported him. it must have been very scary. I've started carrying an alarm with me when I go to one of our country parks now after a bit of an encounter there as I tend to wander off the main tracks. It's a shame we have to worry about people like this but you can't be too careful. Lovely shot by the way
@falcon11@pizzaboy@filsie65@rosiekind@shagbark@mwarren365@alia_801 I felt a little foolish and wondered if I was just imagining his creepiness, but in retrospect I should have reported him to the police, I did keep an eye on the news to see if there were any stories involving him, but nothing. I am certainly more cautious now. I do actually have a battery powered personal alarm and think I will start carrying it in my camera bag - I was given it when working overseas
@jenrobcarr makes me sad to think those gorgeous brolgas haven't made an appearance this year, I hope the baby grew up and they are all thriving somewhere else
